BLACK LIVES MATTER IN SPRINGFIELD: APRIL 30, 2021
Springfield residents marched from Veterans Memorial Park to Springfield Town Hall, declaring with one voice that #BlackLivesMatter. On the lawn in front of Town Hall, a group of speakers -- including several students from Jonathan Dayton High School -- spoke powerfully of their experiences and demanded systemic changes as the crowd cheered them on.
The days' speakers included: Anderson Blair, Zellie Thomas, Racquel Romans-Henry, Morghan Blair, Alex Jean-Baptiste, Chidumebi Iherobiem, and Esther Dewar.
Thank you to our amazing speakers and to everyone who came, everyone who honked and cheered in solidarity as we walked down Mountain Avenue, and to the township police officers who directed traffic and made sure we stayed safe.
Say it loud: Black Lives Matter in Springfield.
